Reimbursement

Summary trajectory

At the start of your treatment, an assessment is made during the first session, the intake interview, an assessment of which trajectory suits your care needs (healthcare request). This depends on the degree of severity, the complexity of your problem and the risks we need to consider. A treatment programme may include interviews, telephone consultations, diagnostics, reporting and consultations with your referrer or co-treaters. These components are also called healthcare services.

What healthcare benefits are there?

  • Consultation diagnostics: investigation into what problems are involved (intake interview and possible additional interviews for psychological research)
  • Consult treatment: discussions with your practitioner for the prevention, treatment and cure of your mental health symptoms.
  • Peer consultation: your practitioner may feel it is necessary for your treatment to consult with an (external) colleague.
  • Travel time: the time your practitioner spends to come to you.
  • Group consultations: therapeutic conversations in a group setting (group therapy).

Cancel appointment or “no show” (not appearing without notice)

  • A no-show occurs if you do not show up for an appointment or if an appointment is not cancelled on time.
  • If you are unable to attend, appointments should be cancelled at least 24 hours or one working day in advance. Therefore, if you have an appointment on Monday at 10 am, cancel it by 10 am on the previous Friday at the latest.
  • In case of a no-show, you will be charged €75.00. Cancellations can be made by e-mail or telephone to your therapist. If it concerns an appointment with a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist, an amount of €125.00 will be charged. This amount is not covered by your health insurance.
  • Therapy will be terminated if you have failed to attend two consecutive appointments without informing Mind to Move.
  • If you did not turn up for an appointment without cancellation, you should contact your therapist yourself to reschedule.
  • If we do not receive a message from you after the no-show, you will receive an E-mail asking you to contact us within 14 days. If you do not respond to this, your file will be closed.

  • For illustration: The intake interview typically consists of one or two diagnostic consultations of 60 minutes each with a basic psychologist, and a 30-minute diagnostic consultation with a healthcare psychologist. The total cost for the intake usually ranges between EUR 361 and EUR 565, but depends on the activities deemed necessary.
  • These rates include time for reporting, multidisciplinary consultation, preparation and processing diagnostics.

Own risk

Own Risk for many forms of care is reimbursed from the basic health insurance package. How is the deductible mental health care (ggz) treatment calculated? The deductible amount is calculated per calendar year. 2023 is a calendar year and 2024 is a new calendar year. Your health insurer calculates whether you have to pay excess. In the care performance model, treatment is made up of separate components: care performances. For example, one conversation with the care provider is one separate care performance. The health insurer will count healthcare services taking place in 2023 when calculating the excess for 2023. Healthcare services taking place in 2023 will count towards the calculation of the own risk excess for 2024.

An example: in 2023, you have 8 conversations with a psychologist. And in 2024, you will have 2 consultations with a psychologist. The 8 consultations that take place in 2023 count towards 2023 own risk deductible. The 2 consultations that take place in 2024 count towards your 2024 own risk deductible.

Whether you also have to pay excess as a result of your treatment at the GGZ depends on several things: Did you incur any other healthcare costs in the same year that were part of the basic insurance? For example, medication or hospital treatment? Then you may have already paid your deductible at the time. Or part of it. Did you opt for a voluntary excess when taking out your insurance? The own risk amount is then higher. This year’s legal deductible is 385 euros. The maximum excess is 885 euros (500 euros on top of the compulsory excess). If you chose a higher deductible amount, you will pay a larger part of your healthcare costs yourself. Want to know more about your excess? Or are you worried about whether you will be able to pay it? If so, contact your health insurer.

Payment Terms

The costs charged by Mind to Move to the client for the treatment must be paid by the client within 30 days of the invoice date. If the client has not paid the amount due within 30 days of the invoice date, the client will be given a final opportunity to pay the invoice without incurring charges within 14 days by means of a first reminder. If the client fails to fulfil his/her obligations within 14 days from the date of the payment reminder, the psychologist will be entitled, without further notice of default, to take collection measures or to have them carried out by third parties. All extrajudicial collection costs related to the collection of the declared amounts will be borne by the client. The extrajudicial collection costs are set at least 15% of the principal sum, with a minimum of €25.00.
